Lab of Trades › Titan

The tool for stocks

You set the risk. Smart Entry builds the order.

Smart Entry Equity takes the most error-prone calculation in trading off your hands: the position size. You define how much money you want to risk in a trade – Lab of Trades works out the matching number of shares and places entry and stop loss as one connected order in your Trader Workstation.

What you can do with it

Five operations taken off your hands

Not five functions in five identical boxes – five places in the order process where Smart Entry takes work, arithmetic or a source of error out of your way.

01

The sequence

From setup to finished order in seconds

Search the stock, choose the direction, enter stop loss and risk amount, pick the account – done. You can specify the entry price or leave it empty: then Smart Entry takes the current market price as the limit.

02

The direction

Long and short – never ambiguous

You choose the direction explicitly with a switch. If the stop sits on the wrong side of the entry, nothing is quietly reinterpreted – Smart Entry flags the error, and placing is then not possible at all. A planned long can never turn into a short by accident.

Long Short Entry · The direction stays unambiguous
03

The risk

Position size – worked out, not estimated

You state your risk as a fixed amount of money per trade. From the distance between entry and stop loss, Smart Entry works out how many shares fit that. Your risk stays the same from trade to trade – whether the stock costs $8 or $800.

$500Risk → 62shares
04

The currency

Currencies? Taken care of

You think in your account currency, US stocks included. Smart Entry converts the risk amount into the trading currency and shows the rate it used, openly.

€ → $
05

The protection

Stop loss included – from the start

The protection is not a second work step that can be forgotten: entry order and stop loss order are transmitted as one connected package. As soon as your entry is filled, the stop is already in the market – as a GTC order that stays in place beyond the trading day.

Why you can rely on it

Nothing happens that you have not seen

Full transparency before every click

Before you place an order, Smart Entry shows live what it will become: the calculated share count, the position value, your actual risk in your account currency and the distance to the stop as a percentage – updated with every entry you make. Preview and placement use the same calculation: what you see is exactly what gets placed.

The last decision stays with you

By default the orders are only handed over to your Trader Workstation and presented there for confirmation – nothing goes to the exchange before you release it. Only if you switch on direct transmission yourself is it passed on without that stop.

If something goes wrong, you hear about it at once

If the broker rejects an order, you do not just get a status line but a clear warning with the reason. Especially for the stop loss: if it is rejected or cancelled after the entry, Smart Entry raises the alarm and asks you to secure the position by hand. An unprotected position never goes unnoticed.

Your order, your broker, your account

Smart Entry places orders exclusively through the official interface of your own Trader Workstation on your computer. No detours over third-party servers, no stored credentials.

No silent failure

Every step is shown live – from loading the price through the placement to the confirmation of the stop. And placing is only possible once all entries are complete and plausible: a valid stop on the right side, sufficient risk, an account chosen, an exchange rate available.

Tool or rule set – who decides?

Smart Entry Equity · the tool

You decide which stock gets traded.

  • You bring the setup
  • The software works out the share count and builds the order
  • No subscription needed – every Monday in the Free Plan

The Equity Growth System · the rule set

The software proposes, by a fixed rule set.

  • The rule set looks for the stocks
  • The signal is there before the market opens
  • Subscribed in four sizes – see the system

The two work together, but neither requires the other: you can use Smart Entry for your own trades without subscribing to the system – and the other way round.

Requirements

What you need

Lab of Trades runs on your computer and on your own broker account. Check these four points before you start – the video walks you through the setup in three minutes.

  • A computer running Windows, Mac or Linux

You install Lab of Trades on it like any other program.

  • A broker account with the Trader Workstation (TWS) and stock trading enabled

With Interactive Brokers or one of its resellers.

  • API access enabled in the TWS

A checkbox in the Trader Workstation settings. The video shows where to find it.

  • During trading hours: computer on, TWS and Lab of Trades open

Without a running TWS the software cannot build an order. This also applies with Remote Control: it connects to exactly this computer.

Installation · 3 minDownload, install and launch Lab of Trades – and set up Trader Workstation so the two connect.

More step-by-step guides are on the tutorials page.

For Smart Entry Equity, you also need

  • An amount you are willing to risk per trade – that is the only number you have to bring. Everything else the software works out from it
Important to know: Smart Entry Equity does not make a trading decision for you – which stock, which direction and which stop you choose is entirely up to you. By default the software presents every order in your Trader Workstation for confirmation; nothing goes to the exchange before you release it. Only if you switch on direct transmission yourself is it passed on without that stop.

Questions & answers

Your question is missing? support@tradeneon.com

Does Smart Entry pick the stocks for me?

No. The setup comes from you – Smart Entry carries it out. If you want the software to select the stocks itself, you need the Equity Growth System.

Do I state my risk as a percentage or as an amount?

As an amount of money. You say what a single trade may cost you at most; the share count follows from the distance between entry and stop loss. That keeps your risk constant, independent of the share price.

What happens if the calculation does not come out even?

Then it is rounded down. The share count comes out one share smaller rather than letting your risk sit above what you entered. The rounding always goes in your favour.

Does Smart Entry set a price target as well?

No. Smart Entry Equity places entry and stop loss – no target, no timed exit. When you take a profit is your decision. The counterpart for options, Smart Entry Options, can do more – the two tools are not built the same.

Does the stop stay in place overnight?

Yes. The stop goes out as a GTC order and stays in place beyond the trading day. That matters because stock positions typically run for several days – a stop that expires in the evening would be no stop at all.

What is included in the Free Plan?

Smart Entry Equity is unlocked every Monday – with no payment details and with everything it can do. If you want it on every trading day, you subscribe to it for $9 a month. There are no size tiers.

Which broker do I need?

Smart Entry works together with the Trader Workstation (TWS) – that is where your finished order arrives. This works with any broker you use the TWS through: Interactive Brokers itself as well as brokers that work on top of the TWS. Orders run exclusively through your own TWS on your own computer – we store no credentials.

Is this investment advice?

No. Smart Entry is a technical tool – it knows nothing about your personal situation and it does not give recommendations. It does not propose a stock to you. The decision is yours alone.

Important notice: trading stocks involves risk, including the loss of the capital employed. Smart Entry Equity is a tool for order entry and does not make any trading decisions for you.
